Learning Workshops Offered

Academic Solutions Group, LLC offers workshops in three broad categories: Leader-Grit, School/OST Organizational Change, and Community Engagement.  These workshops can be offered as an individual event or a series to reach particular learning outcomes in your organization. Leader-Grit 

 

These sessions were curated by creative leaders and master facilitators to ensure that the content is relevant and interactive. Most sessions run between two and three hours. While they can all be executed over Zoom, we prefer to see you in person, live, and create real connections.

Leader-Grit provides sessions that are easy to digest with impactful tools and strategies that support work climate and improve culture. These tools are actionable, relevant and can be built into any work environment as quickly as the next day! Contact us to get started!

What's My Why?

Based on Simon Sinek’s famous Ted Talk “Start with Why” this session helps staff at any level examine why they are in the professional spaces they are in based on a deep personal reflection. After all, they are connected. We will reflect, share ideas and tips on how to identify ‘your spark’ or reignite it so that participants begin to share, give, and build a community where they are inspired, feel great at work, and end their days with fulfillment and purpose.

Education Advocate

What Do You Ride For?

Current events are separating us now more than ever. As humans in the workplace, it is important to discuss challenging topics, share ideas, and advocate for injustices. We need to create a safe space for ourselves, our colleagues, and stakeholders to explore race, and segregation - time to shift the narrative. In this session, we will use the Freedom Rides of 1961 to help us become aware of our power to make a change by declaring what YOU RIDE FOR!

Mindful Conflict Resolution Solutions

Disgruntled, disengaged and disconnected staff have your head spinning? Searching for mindful and safe communication strategies to utilize when having hard conversations with staff? Then, this session is for you! Join us and explore non-threatening and inclusive simple-to-implement communication strategies. These activities support your work as a leader in order to build a perfectly productive team and positive work culture. Leave with new ideas for building a collaborative and cooperative team!

New Growth

Growth and Fixed Mindsets

In this session, we will explore how to build a growth mindset to build resilience and grit over time. We will examine how to identify when a fixed mindset becomes an obstacle and how to address it. Participants will continue to develop healthy activities and accountability forums addressing — Mindfulness, Body Awareness, Community and Connection, and Digital and Social Media Consciousness in order to build new habits that promote learning, connection, and a sense of community.

Gratitude

Slowing Down with Gratitude

Through reflection, participants will share their wellness and healthy behavior accomplishments and challenges. In this session, we will explore gratitude as a tool for maintaining happiness and building relationships within oneself, with teams, and one on one. Participants will continue to use strategies to build new habits that promote learning, connection, and a sense of community.

Building Powerful  Partnerships

As leaders, we need to effectively and authentically engage with our community to ensure all stakeholders find success in an organization. ASG's Building Powerful Partnerships session will walk you through an equity-driven framework that identifies key conditions that lead to impactful community-based partnerships. The session will also provide you with high-leverage strategies aligned to the framework that will transform the relationships, culture, and decision-making in your organization. 

Parents/families are students' first teachers and our partners in providing the best education opportunities possible. As education leaders, we need to effectively and authentically engage with our families and community to ensure all students have school success. Parent/family and student engagement is a rapidly growing focus strongly tied to student achievement. ASG's Building Powerful Partnerships session will walk you through an equity-driven framework that identifies key conditions that lead to impactful family-school partnerships. The session will also provide you with high-leverage family and community engagement strategies aligned to the framework that will transform the relationships, culture, and decision-making in your school, district, or education organization.

Cultural Competence in the Workplace

We live in a multicultural world, where businesses and organizations can leverage this diversity as an asset. Intercultural competence is essential for organizations, teams, and individuals to maximize productivity and succeed in reaching goals. This session provides a research-based understanding of what intercultural competence is and how individuals and groups can work to develop their intercultural competencies. The session includes the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) with custom group and individual profile reports. Teams and individuals can apply the results of the IDI to goal achievement through IDI-guided development.

The "Superteam Meeting": 3+ Ways to Mindfulness and Staff Support 

For staff to feel supported, we need to spend time ensuring they are feeling safe and seen. When this happens, they carry it over to their peers and stakeholders. In this session, we will walk through creative ways to approach mindfulness in staff meetings that don’t intimidate staff. We will share methods that support you as a leader to build confidence in delivering a mindful practice, and how to authentically incorporate it into your staff meetings.

Emotional IQ and Social Emotional Learning

Do you feel your team is disconnected at times? Wish you knew how to share the love with them? Often leaders don’t pay enough attention to how their staff is feeling or should be feeling. They underestimate how central emotions are needed to build the right workplace culture. In this session, we will show a clear connection between emotional intelligence and social-emotional learning. Participants will walk away with five strategies that will help you and your teams “feel the love” and build the emotional intelligence of staff in order to create a more productive, positive work environment.

Are you a leader struggling with staff engagement and professionalism? In this workshop, we will examine how staff actions are impacting the work environment. In this reflection-based workshop, we will create a safe space and take a deep look at professional and personal behavior. We will dive into how we show up for our colleagues and team members each day. We work with teams to create non-threatening accountability plans and staff driven solutions to improve the work environment.

This session introduces you to the skills and strategies used by creative problem solvers, focusing on practices found in the problem-solving literature that can be applied in any professional context. This session is about everyday, applied creativity to equip you with creative problem-solving strategies that can positively impact your work and leadership.

 

School/OST Organizational Change

 

School and OST change calls for specific, integrated strategies to enact meaningful and sustainable growth. Sessions aimed to promote immediate and systemic change include workshops on developing communities of practices, integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics programming across an organization, and connecting change to innovation and creativity of the team members.

A Quest for STEM Integration

A community of practice provides structure to develop stakeholder buy-in, a common language and goals, an opportunity to identify skill-set gaps, and a shared space for measuring progress. In this workshop, you will learn to implement a proven model for successful STEM integration, leveraging a community of practice to give structure for sustained growth.  This workshop will give you the tools and frameworks you need to implement a large-scale initiative and start your quest for STEM!

The session shares promising practices, inspiration, and a roadmap for implementing a community of practice model to better serve their students through improved instruction and social-emotional learning development. Participants examine the research-based processes, resources, and data collection practices that drive a collaborative cycle of continuous improvement. In this session, you will learn essential strategies that districts, schools, and educators can use to effectively and equitably partner with families. Grounded in research, ASG leads organizations through a comprehensive self-assessment of their community engagement progress. Following the self-assessment, organizations identify areas of need based on the unique composition of their community members and collaboratively design solutions that will enhance engagement within their community.
